Taking pictures on films are almost a thing of the past nowadays. Photographs are usually shot via light sensors and rendered digitally so that photos are effortlessly viewed then processed into a computer.
Digital cameras are available in all kinds of sizes and shapes. Commercial and consumer SLRs are compact and convenient. They are great for taking on family excursions or special events. For a much more professional look, there are Digital slr cameras. These are generally more sophisticated cameras designed for better quality and professional photographers.
There’s a wide variety of lenses for professional D-SLRs. Digital slr cameras have different lenses for completely different types of photographs. A standard lens for standard photos, wide-angle lens for photographs that capture a bigger area of scenery, tele-photo for distant subjects, and macro lens which is used for that exciting close-up detail.
Some basic ideas to bear in mind in photography: get protection for your SLR. Keeping it nice and clean and inside a camera case will safeguard it so it will last longer.
